2026/2/7(土) ふちがみとふなと/国立Reborn
京都在住のご夫婦デュオなので、頻繁にライブを観ているわけではありませんが、
観るたびに、その「普通に暮らしているお隣さん」な感じに、だんだん私も慣れてきました。
エンタメではなく「演芸」と呼びたいのは、綺麗事だけでなく、泥臭いことや
真面目なことも多分に含んだ歌だからです。例えば、子供の頃にお父さんと
「お馬さんしかいない動物園」に行った歌。
笑える歌だと思うのですが、実は色んな複雑な思いを含んでいるのだろうなと思います。
私の誤解も多分に含まれているとは思いますが、「全部は分かり合えない」のですよね ...
これは、僕が一番好きな「日時計」という曲の歌詞です。
アンコールでリクエストをしたら演ってくれたのが嬉しかったです。
「全部は分かり合えない」というところで、僕は毎回泣いてしまいます。
昨日のハイライトは、アフリカン・ラップのカバー曲「アナユアナマジシ（その意味は“葬式”）」で、
リボーンPAのkeyちゃん（もちろん大のふちふなファン）がダブワイズをかましていたところでした。
ふちふなでDUBはありなのか！という、新鮮な驚きがありました。
そういえば2曲目くらいに、多分ジャマイカに行かれた時の思い出の歌なのだろうか、
“Islands in the Sun”（の日本語カバーだと思います、多分）を演られたのは、
レゲエに強いハコへのリスペクト表明なのだろうなと思いました。
物販で、少し前に出た LDK（友部正人＋ふちがみとふなと）の新作CD
『ブルースとワルツ』を入手しました。
LDKは今夜（2/8）APIA40でライブがありますが、ソールドアウトのようです。
3/26（水）にはMANDALA-2で「ふちがみとふなととエマルとボブと。」名義のライブがあります。
私は存じ上げないのですが、「エマルとボブ（macaroom）」は、かなり音楽的にも面白い方(ユニット？)だと
渕上さんがMCでおっしゃっていました。こちらも観に行かなくちゃ、と思っています。

Feb 7, 2026 (Sat) Fuchigami to Funato / Reborn, Kunitachi, Tokyo
They are a husband-and-wife duo based in Kyoto, so I don’t get to see them live very often.
Still, each time I do, I find myself gradually getting used to their feeling of being like
“the neighbors next door,” living ordinary lives.
I want to call what they do not “entertainment” but engei—a kind of performing art—because
their songs include not only pretty sentiments, but also muddiness and seriousness in equal measure.
For example, there’s a song about going to “a zoo with nothing but horses” with one’s father as a child.
It may sound funny, but I feel it carries a lot of complex emotions beneath the humor.
This may include many of my own misunderstandings, but “we can’t fully understand each other"
That line comes from the lyrics of “Sundial” my favorite song of theirs. I was so happy when they played it after
I requested it for the encore. At the line “we can’t fully understand each other” I end up crying every single time.
Yesterday’s highlight was their cover of an African rap song, “Anayuanamazishi” (which means “funeral”),
where Key-chan from Reborn PA—of course a huge Fuchigami to Funato fan—threw in some dubwise effects.
Dub with Fuchigami to Funato?! It was a fresh and delightful surprise.
Come to think of it, around the second song they played what was probably a song inspired by their time
in Jamaica—“Islands in the Sun” (I think it was a Japanese cover, probably). I felt it was a gesture of
respect toward the venue, which has strong reggae roots.
At the merch table, I picked up the new CD Blues and Waltz by LDK (Masato Tomobe + Fuchigami to Funato),
which was released a little while ago. LDK is playing tonight (Feb 8) at APIA40, but it seems the show is sold out.
On March 26 (Wed), there will be a live show at MANDALA-2 under the name “Fuchigami to Funato to Emaru to Bob to.”
I’m not familiar with them myself, but Fuchigami mentioned during the MC that “Emaru to Bob (macaroom)” is a very
musically interesting unit. I feel like I have to go see that one too.

入院で行けなくなった相方の代わりに観に行く。
甘美な轟音にうっとり。
耳栓が配られていた割には、前半は
「あれ、音小さいな？」と思っていたのだけれど、
徐々に音量が上がっていき、暴れ出し、
ラスト曲では本気で殺しにかかってきてた（笑）。
相方ちゃんに観せてあげたかったな。

色々な音楽を聴きたくても、時間が足りなかったり、時間があってもこちらの気力体力が無かったり ...
つまり全ての良き音楽を生涯で聴き尽くすことは出来ないと悟ったのです。
それでも色々聴きたい ... 執着はなかなか捨てられません。ちっぽけな私です。

今週ライブがある流れでマイブラ(My Bloody Valentine)でも聴く？とかけてみたけれど、
初老カップルの団欒で聴くには合わないねと言い合って途中でやめました。
お互いの状態に依るし、一人で集中して聴いたりライブで聴く分には大好きなんだけどね。
代わりに Ry Cooder などを聴いていました。
ソールドアウトらしいマイブラ東京公演は、行けない相方の代わりに私が観に行く予定です。
久々に家の湯船に浸かった相方ちゃんは、風呂上がりに久々だとうめーなーと言いながら
ビールをお召しになっていました。

With a live show coming up this week, we thought, “Shall we put on some My Bloody Valentine?”
and gave it a try, but we soon agreed that it wasn’t quite right for a cozy evening
between an aging couple, so we stopped midway.
It really depends on one’s condition — I love My Bloody Valentine when I’m listening
alone with full focus, or hearing them live, but not so much in that setting.
Instead, we put on some Ry Cooder.
The My Bloody Valentine Tokyo show is apparently sold out,
so I’m planning to go in my partner’s place since they can’t make it.
After soaking in our bathtub at home for the first time in a while,
my partner came out and, saying “Man, this tastes good — it’s been a while,”
enjoyed a beer.
Hehe. Maybe that means they’re feeling a bit better.

久々の仲間に連絡したら絶賛リラプス（再飲酒）中だったので、
呼び出して西荻窪の富士そばで会って一緒に朝食を食べた。
私が話したところでまあどうにもならんが、泣きながらでもカツ丼を完食したアイツは
きっと立ち直るだろう。
泣きながらでも飯食えるヤツは生き残る。
これは私自身の経験で実感。
その彼に「音楽やってるなら80歳まで生き延びて渋いブルーズ聴かせてみろよ、
90歳になったオレが聴いてやるから」と喝を入れたら、
「ブルーズなんか歌わねーよ、俺パンク／オルタナだから」と返された。
うふふ、なかなか気骨のあるヤツだ。そういうところ大好きだぜ。
ミーティング前にレコード屋に立ち寄り、一度手放したエリック・アンダースン (Eric Andersen) の
名作 Blue River を再確保。USオリジナルで1000円くらいでした。
その後のミーティングで会った先輩に「何買ったの？」と聞かれて、(ハードロック好きの) 〇〇さんの
好みじゃないと思うんですけど ... と見せたら、オレも最近こういうレイドバックしたのが好きでさー、
ライ・クーダー (Ry Cooder) とか大好きになったんだよと仰っていた。
音楽の好みって変わりますよね、なんて話し合った。

When I got in touch with an old friend I hadn’t spoken to in a while,
I found out he was deep in a full-blown relapse, so I called him out and we met at the
Fuji Soba in Nishi-Ogikubo and had breakfast together.
There’s not much I can do just by talking, but the fact that he finished a whole
katsudon — even while crying — tells me he’ll probably get back on his feet.
Anyone who can eat a full meal, even through tears, survives.
That’s something I know for sure from my own experience.
I gave him a little tough love and said, “If you’re making music, then survive until
you’re 80 and play me some gritty blues. I’ll be 90 by then and I’ll listen.”
He shot back, “I’m not singing blues—I’m punk / alternative.”
Heh. He’s got some backbone. I really love that about him.

そのミーティングの主催者で、年末に亡くなったおじさんを偲び、
