Jeff wrote, "Please share about the changes you have experienced as you have become free from the bondage of self."
First of all I must admit I never accepted that I was selfish and self-centered and apparently enjoyed wallowing in self pity. I knew I was spoiled rotten but that wasn't my fault (right, nope). It's amazing what I've learned about what I was like since coming into the room.
Freedom from the bondage of self. I now know that selfishness really doesn't get me anywhere good. Thinking of others affords me a way better way of life. Fear, prejudice and expectations are wastes of time and accomplish nothing. I believe the gift of the 12th step keeps me walking in the Sunlight of The Spirit. I believe completing all 12 steps every day is critical to my sobriety and keeping what has been so graciously given to me. Action Action Action
