の仲間の皆さん：
今週のミーティングをリードしてくれたデビー、そして私が読んだすべての分かち合いに感謝します。仲間の皆さんの言葉は、私が感情のバランスを保つ助けになっています。アルコホーリクのスーザンです。回復はしていますが、完治したわけではありません。今週の初めに、36年のバースデーを祝うことができました。神様、AA、そして私と共にここにいてくれる仲間の皆さん、本当にありがとうございます。

を始めて最初の数年のうちのある時、私はようやく気づきました。自分の人生で起きているすべてのことや、身近なことから遠くで起きていることまで、そのすべてを自分が承認しなければならないというルールなど無いのです。率直に言えば、そのほとんどは私の知ったことではありません。私たちの姉妹

であるAl-Anonがあって、本当に神様に感謝です。私が知っている人たちは、ほとんどみんなアルコホーリクです。あるいは、控えめに言ってもただの人間です。
私の家庭には、愛情を込めて言われる言葉があります。でもそれは、神様の世界の中で自分がどこに立っているのかを思い出させてくれる、真剣な戒めでもあります。それは、妻の食べ方について文句を言っていた夫の話から来ています。（たしか彼女は、一度に一種類ずつ食べていたのだと思います。）夫がしばらく文句を言い続けたあと、妻はこう言いました。「それが一体あんたに何の関係があるの？」
この問いかけの重みは、人生で起きていることのほとんどは私の知ったことではない、ということを思い出させ続けてくれます。そして、私が関わるべきことについては、神様の意志に沿ったものであるべきです。私はそれを完璧にできることは決してないし、ほかの誰にもできません。でも大切なのは、神様の意志に沿う道を歩み続け、そのことを実践し続けることなのです。
だから我が家では、どちらかが「自分が出しゃばって、相手を正してやらなきゃ」と思ったときには、こう言うのです。「それがあんたに何の関係があるの？」
たいてい場合、その問いかけに対する私の答えは「本当は私の知ったことじゃない」というものになります。自分自身が取り組むべきことは他にたくさんあるのに、私はただ、物ごとを少し自分好みに変えて「世界は私 (Susan) の思い通りであるべきだ」と、みんなにわからせたかっただけなのです。まったく、とんでもない話です！！！今では、一度タオルを投げて降参したら、そのあとでまた糸を一本ずつ引っ張るように、少しずつ取り戻そうとはしません。
人生って奇跡ですね。一呼吸一呼吸が贈り物です。そして私は毎朝、今日、神様が私に何を語り、何をすることを望んでおられるのかを尋ねることから一日を始めます。そうすればうまくいくんです。本当にうまくいくんです！

Dear Esh'ers:
Thanks Debbie for leading us this week and for all the shares I've read. Your words help keep me in emotional balance. My name is Susan and I am an alcoholic, recovered, not cured. Thank you God and AA and all of you for me getting to celebrate 36 years earlier this week.
I finally found out at some point in my first few years that it was not a rule that I approve of everything that is going on in my life and things near and far. Frankly, most of it is none of my business. Thank God for our sister program, Al-Anon. Almost everyone I know is alcoholic or at the very best human.
We have an expression here at home, that is lovingly said, but is a serious reminder of where I stand in God's world. It comes from a story of a husband complaining of the way his wife was eating (I think she ate one thing at a time). After some time of his complaining she said, "What the hell is it to you?"
The seriousness of the question keeps me remembering that most of what goes on in life is none of my business, what is my business better be aligned with God's will and I'll never get it perfectly, nor will anyone else, but that the point is to continue practicing and walking in the way of God's will.
So at home when one of us thinks that they need to step up and set the other one straight - "What the hell is it to you?"
Usually the answer I have to give myself is it's really none of my business, I've got plenty to work on myself, and I just wanted to tweak things a bit to make sure everyone knows that it should be the world according to Susan. What a disaster!!! Now I can throw the towel in and not take it back one thread at a time.
Life is a miracle, each breath is a gift and I start my day asking God what He would have me say and do today. It works, it really does!
