来週のミーティングが終わったら、私はこの
ESHExperience, Strength, and Hope - 経験と力と希望グループ
グループを抜けるつもりです。ただ黙って去るのではなく、きちんと皆さんに別れを告げておくべきだと思いました。
皆さんのせいではありません。このグループに戻ってきて、1990年代後半から見覚えのある仲間の名前をこんなにもたくさん見られたことは、本当に楽しいことでした。皆さんは今も、しっかりとしたメッセージを伝え続けています。そして私は、読んだものの中から、その週の黙想の中で思い起こすことになるものを、しばしば見つけます。
この夏、私は5日間の沈黙のリトリート（瞑想合宿）を過ごしました。AAに来たばかりの頃には、5分間静かに座っていることさえできる状態ではなかったことを思えば、大きな進歩です。その数日間に、はっきりと心に浮かんできた気づきの一つは、私自身のデジタルな生活を、大幅に縮小する必要があるということでした。
なので私は、メールグループを退会し、有料購読をやめ、ソーシャルメディアのアカウントもほとんど閉鎖することにしました。Substackと仕事用のウェブサイトも閉鎖します。ビジネスの世界に対しては、私にはもうそれほど多くを語ることはないと思っています。未来を担うのは次の世代ですし、AI時代へ会社を導いていく方法については、私よりもはるかに深い見識を持っている人たちがいます。そろそろ身を引く時です。
ですから私は、霊的な導きに従って、もっと多くの時間を対面での生活に使おうと思っています。テクノロジーに詳しい甥は、これを「ミートスペース（Meatspace、実際に人と顔を合わせる現実の空間・現実世界）」と呼んでいます。
私はこれからも、アナログなAAの
ホームグループAAの中で自分が所属し、活動の拠点となるグループ
には深く関わり続けるつもりです。もしペンシルベニア州マーサーズバーグに火曜日の夜に来ることがあれば、私たちは午後7時からUnited Methodist Churchでミーティングをしています。私たちは素晴らしいグループです。そして、その素晴らしい点の一つは、新しい顔ぶれにちゃんと気づくことです。たくさんの握手と、座り心地のいい椅子が待っています。きっと温かく歓迎されることでしょう。
現世であれ、来世であれ、幸せな運命へと続く道の途中で、きっとまたお会いできると確信しています。

Hi everyone,
I will be unsubscribing from this group at the end of next week's meeting. I thought I should say my goodbyes rather than just quietly go away.
It’s not you. It has been a kick to be back and see so many of the same names from the late 1990s. Still carrying a solid message. Frequently I’v read something that goes into my meditation for the week.
I spent 5 days in silent retreat this summer, quite the improvement from my first days in AA when I didn’t have the capacity to sit silently for 5 minutes. One insight that came thru clear in those days was the need for me to drastically scale back my digital life.
Thus I’m leaving email groups, paid subscriptions, and closing most social media accounts. Am also shuttering my Substack and business website. To the business world, I don’t think I have much more to say anyway. The future belongs to the next generation, and others have much more insight on how to take a company into the age of AI. Time to step aside.
Thus I am spiritually called to spend more time in face-to-face life (my techy nephew calls it the Meatspace).
I’ll still be deeply involved with my analog AA home group. If you happen to be in Mercersburg, PA on a Tuesday evening, you can find us at 7:00 pm in the United Methodist Church. We have a great group, and one of the things that makes it great is that we take notice of new faces. Be prepared for many handshakes and comfy chairs. You will be warmly welcomed.
