私はこれまでに何度も、自分の意志と生き方を神に委ねた、と話す仲間の話を聞いてきました。でも、もし本当にそんなことができたのならもうAAは必要ないはずだ、と私は思うのです。
ステップ3を注意深く読むと、そこには「私たちの意志と生き方を、神の配慮に委ねる」と書かれています。「神そのものに委ねる」とは書いていません。
それは意味として、とても大きな違いなんです。ちなみに、その頃に私は “Gus” を見つけました。（“Guy Upstairs” でも “Gal Upstairs” でも――つまり「上にいる誰か」という感じです。）そして、私の場合は、それでうまくいっているのです。

Over time, I've heard more than a few folks state they've turned their lives and wills over to God. I figure if they've done that, it's obvious they no longer need AA.
When I read that third step carefully, it states we turn our will and lives over to the care of God. Not over to God.
That's a huge difference in meaning. By the way, that is the time I found Gus (Guy or Gal Up Stairs). And that's the way it works for me.
