の記念日（バースデー）を迎える仲間の皆さん、おめでとうございます。マイケル、ミーティングの司会と、「謙虚さ」というトピックを選び、分かち合ってくれてありがとう。
以前、誰かが「自分は謙虚だと思っているなら、たぶん本当はそうじゃない」と言っているのを聞いたことがあります。AAのステップ4、5、あるいは9を実践する機会をまだ持っていない人にとっては、そう考える（自分は謙虚だと考える）のも、もっともだと思います。
その時その時の自分なりの精一杯でやってきたことのすべてと、仲間のテックスの助けもあって、私は AA に導かれました。私は彼女（テックス）のことをよく話題にするので、その話はもう皆さんご存じですよね。
AAにつながってすぐに棚卸しが始まりました。そして、自分の不誠実な生き方は無駄なことだったと気づきました。ステップを完全に理解するより前に ―― そんな日が本当に来るのか分かりませんが ―― そして
ハイヤーパワー（HP=ハイヤーパワー）神、または高次の力、自分を超えた大きな力。意志と生き方をゆだねる対象。
を見つける前から、変化は起こり始めていました。
大きな変化が起こりました。人生はこれまでとは違った方向へ進むことになり、日々のストレスは少なくなりました。何かを選択する場合でも、行動する場合でも、自分自身に正直でいることが、毎日の暮らしに欠かせないものになっています。ステップは、私に生き方を教えてくれました……そして今も教えられ続けています。
それが謙虚さなのか、謙虚であるということなのかは分かりません。でも、私はそれを受け取っていこうと思います。

Hello…Pam, a grateful alcoholic. Welcome newcomers to ESH and congratulations sobriety celebrants. Thank you Michael for leading our meeting and choosing the topic with your share regarding humility.
At some point I heard someone say, “if you think you’re humble, then you probably aren’t.” I can see how that would make sense to somebody who hasn’t had the opportunity to exercise AA’s 4th, 5th, and 9th steps.
Everything I did to the best of my ability at the time brought me to AA, with help from Tex. You know that story by now as I seem to mention her a lot.
Inventory began early to discover my dishonest approach to living was futile. Even before fully understanding (if that ever happens) the steps, finding a higher power, change happened.
Major changes happened, less stressful days even though my life took a different direction. Honesty with self, in choices and in actions plays a major role every day. The steps taught…continue to teach me how to live.
Not sure if that’s humility or being humble, but I’ll take it.
