仲間のみなさん、こんにちは。私はこのグループが解散してしまうのを望んでいません。1999年に初めてコンピューターを手に入れた頃から、私は皆さんと一緒にいます。

は、ほとんどEメールそのものの歴史と同じくらい長い歴史を持っています。これまでの旅路の途中で実際にお会いした方も多く、そのたびに大きな喜びを感じてきました。

のユニークなところは、時間にそれほど縛られない点です。丸一週間、仲間の皆さんが私のそばにいてくれます。今では、皆さんをポケットの中に入れて持ち歩き、時間・やる気・エネルギー・集中力（そして通信環境）があるときなら、いつでもモバイル端末でフェローシップを感じることができます。また、対面のミーティングでは一度話してしまえばそれで終わりですが、ここでは自分の考えをより正確に言葉にして表現できます。そうした特性は、私にとってとても大切なものです。
ロードアイランド州で最初の頃に知り合った、賢い年配の女性である友人エレンが、行き詰まっていたあるミーティングでこう言ったことがあります。「もしそれが衰えていくものなら、いっそ品位をもって終わらせる手助けをしたほうがいいのかもしれない」。けれども、私はこのグループがまだそこまで来ているとは思いません。そして、私にできることが限られているとしても、このグループが生き残り、さらに成長していくために力を尽くしたいと思っています。

Hi Everyone - I do not want to see this group disband. I've been with you guys since 1999 when I got my first computer. ESH is almost as old as email itself. I've met many of you in my travels and it is always a joy. ESH is unique in that it is not as time-constrained, in that for a whole week you are there for me. Nowadays I can carry you in my pocket and fellowship by mobile device at any time that I have the time, desire, energy and focus (and mobile service). It also allows me to express my thoughts much more precisely than at a f2f meeting where, once I've said my piece, there it is, a pile on the floor. Those qualities are very important to me.
My friend Ellen, the wise old lady from my early days in Rhode Island, stated at a meeting that was floundering, "If it is dying, maybe we should just help it die gracefully". I don't think this Group is quite at that point and I am willing to help it survive and thrive, using whatever limited skills I have.
