今週のミーティングを始めてくれてありがとう、マーク。さて、「すべてを成し遂げてくれた人たち」と自分はどうつながっているか、ということですが——まず何より、AAという存在があること、そして彼ら（AA草創期のメンバーたち）がその基盤を築いてくれたことにとても感謝しています。そのおかげで、私たちは自分の人生を形づくり、歩み、そして彼らが残してくれたステップに導いてもらうことができるんです。私の人生にとって、それはまさに神からの贈り物でした。やる気を出したいときや、何かに行き詰まったときには、私はステップに立ち返ります。そして、「自分は人や場所や出来事——何よりアルコールに対して無力である」と思い出すのです。ひとつ確かなのは、もし私と同じような問題を抱えた他の仲間たちがいなかったら、私はここまで来られなかったということ。孤独で、恥に押しつぶされそうだったから。だから、私は今ここにいられることを心からうれしく思っています。みんな、ありがとう。

Thanks Mark for getting us started this week. How do I relate to the folks that made it all happen? Well first of all I am very grateful that there is AA and they built that Foundation for us to form and follow our lives and be guided by the steps they wrote. I know it's been a godsend in my life and anytime I need to get a boost or having trouble I just go to the steps and remember I am powerless over people places and things and utmost alcohol. I know one thing if there weren't other people just like me with similar problems I would never have made it because I felt alone and shamed. So I'm glad to be here y'all.
