ハッピーイースター、仲間の皆さん。今週記念日を迎える仲間、おめでとうございます。私は「セレニティ・プレイヤー（平安の祈り）」が、私たちの多くの道具（ツール）を含んでいるなあと考えていました。最初の一文 —— 「私にお与えください。変えられないものを受け入れる落ち着きを」この「お与えください（grant us）」という言葉は、主導するのは（）であり、このは「授けられるもの（）」だということを思い出させてくれます。そして続くのは「受け入れる」というテーマ。これはいつも私たちに、「手放して神に任せる」こと、そして「受け入れることこそがあらゆる問題の答え」であることを思い出させてくれます。もし何か、誰かのことを受け入れがたいと感じるなら、そのときこそ自分自身を見つめ、「なぜそう感じるのか？」と問いかける必要があるのです。セレニティ・プレイヤーの二行目では、「変えられるものを変えていく勇気を」 と求めています。ここで言う「変えられるもの」とは、たいてい自分自身、そして状況に対する自分の見方のことです。私にとってこれは多くの努力を意味します。棚卸し（インベントリー）を行い、ステップ10を実践し、自分の役割や責任を見つけ出すこと、そして自分自身のために声を上げることを学ぶプロセスです。そして最後の行は、「その二つを見分ける賢さを」 と求めています。最初の頃、私はいつも「賢さっていったい何のこと？」と自分に問い続けていました。でもある日、それがまるでレンガの山が落ちてきたようにはっきりとわかったのです。つまり ――「壁に頭を打ちつけて、物事や人をどうにかしようともがくのはもうやめよう」もし本当に平安（セレニティ）がほしいなら、それが何であれ、すべてをに委ねて手放す必要がある。私は自分自身にこう問いかけなければなりません：「このことには、自分の心の落ち着きを失うほどの価値があるのか？」そして答えは「そんな価値はない」のです。それでは、仲間の皆さんにとってこの祈りがどのように働いているか、ぜひ聞かせてください。

WELCOME TO THE ESH WEEKLY MEETING

The structure of an ESH meeting is that the chairperson selects a topic for the week and anyone in the group has the option to share on that topic. In order to keep the postings to a minimum for the entire group, we suggest that personal messages be sent directly to that person and not via the Group.

Comments should be closely related to recovery from alcoholism. "The ESH meeting will begin no earlier than Sunday morning anytime after midnight EST and members are requested to post their shares no later than the following Saturday night at 11:59 PM EST."

All members are encouraged to share their A.A. anniversary on their annual sobriety date. Tell the group what your life was like before AA, what happened, and what it's like today.

Happy Easter everyone. Congrats to anyone celebrating an anniversary this week. I was thinking of how the Serenity prayer encompasses a lot of our tools. The first line God grant us the serenity to accept the things I cannot change: grant us reminds us that it's HP in charge and that this program is a gift. Then goes on to acceptance ever reminding us to let go and let God and that acceptance is the answer to all our problems and if something or someone is unacceptable to us then we need to look at ourselves and ask why? The second line asks for courage to change the things we can which is usually just ourselves and our outlook on circumstances. For me it entails a lot of work, doing inventories and the 10th step, looking and discovering my part, and also learning to stand up for myself. And the last line asks for the wisdom to know the difference. Early on I would always ask myself what the heck is the wisdom mean? Well it hit me like a ton of bricks. Stop banging my head against the wall trying to fix, manage and control things and people. If I want any serenity I must turn all of whatever it is over to HP and let go. I have to ask myself is it worth it to lose my serenity and its not. So I would love to hear how the prayer works for you.
