立ち直ったアルコホーリクのトニーです。今週も皆さんとご一緒できることに感謝しています。AAに来たとき、私は何を期待したら良いのかまったく分かりませんでした。私はペーパーバック版の
ビッグブックビッグブック・AAの基本テキスト（書籍）
を手に入れました。それは上着のポケットに収まるほど小さく、表紙には目立たない形で書名が型押しされていました。
ステップ1を完全に受け入れ、自分がアルコホーリクであると心の底から認めるまでに、私は数か月を要しました。そのずっと後になって、
ビッグブックビッグブック・AAの基本テキスト（書籍）
の77ページ（日本語版 p110）にある「私たちの本当の目的は、神と自分のまわりの人たちに対してできるかぎりの奉仕ができるように、自分をささげることである。」という一文に出会いました。私はこれまでの人生の大半を、何らかの形で奉仕に携わって過ごしてきました。現在の私が期待していることは、77ページのその一文を初めて読んだときに自分自身に約束した「誓い」を果たすことです。
「実践を重ねることで前進できる」ということを、あらためて思い出させてくれてありがとう。

Thank You Dan for leading us this week, for your topic, and to all who have shared.
I'm Tony a recovered alcoholic, grateful to be with you again this week. When I came to AA, I didn't know what to expect. I obtained a paperback edition of the Big Book - small enough to sit in my jacket pocket with the book title inconspicuously embossed on the front cover.
It took me several months to completely take the first step, and concede to my innermost self that I was alcoholic'. Much later I discovered on page 77 of our text book - "Our real purpose is to fit ourselves to be of maximum service to God and the people about us". I've spent most of my years in some kind of service or other. My expectation now is to fulfill the 'promise' I made to myself when I first read this sentence on page 77.
Thank You for reminding me again that practice makes progress.
