12の伝統AA共同体の一体性を守るための12の決まり
に関する図解入りの小冊子の中に、素晴らしい漫画があります。それは見開き2ページにわたって描かれており、日々の活動で忙しい5人の個人が、病院のベッドにいる男性からの「助け」の叫びに応答している様子が描かれています。最後の絵では、彼らは皆ベッドの周りに集まり、患者からの心の中の叫び、つまり「思考-叫び」に応えているのです。これは、「ベッドにいる男」というAAのオリジナルのイメージを私に思い出させます。
この見開きページは、伝統5 (※) と、私たちの主要な目的を解説しています。

サービスAAの奉仕活動
の分野において、AAの模範を示す方法はたくさんあります。私の妻の親しい友人であったジェニーは、いつも何かで忙しく活動しており、常にAAで活動的であったため、いつも満たされていました。彼女は私にとって大きな励みとなる存在でした。彼女が入院し、がんの末期にあったとき、私たちは彼女のことを思い出していました。
今週もまた、ここにいてくださりありがとうございます。皆様のおかげで、「誰かが、どこかで助けを求めたら必ずそこにＡＡの（愛の）手があるようにしたい。それは私の責任だ。」ということを改めて思い出すことができました。

Tony, recovered alcoholic, grateful to be with you today. Thanks to all for sharing.
In the illustrated booklet on the Traditions, there is a wonderful cartoon, covering two pages, showing five individuals, busy with their daily activities, responding to a 'help' cry from a man in a hospital bed. The last image shows them all gathered around the bed, answering the thought - cry' from the patient. It reminds me of the original AA image of 'the man in the Bed'.
The double page spread, illustrates the Fifth Tradition, and our primary purpose.
There's always something needing to be done in AA, in every area of service, and many ways of carrying the AA example. My wife's close friend, Jenny, was always busy doing something, and always content, because she was always AA-active. She was an inspiration to me, and we remembered her when she was hospitalised, in the final stages of cancer.
Thanks for being here for me again this week, reminding me that 'I am responsible, when anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help, I want the hand of AA always to be there. And for that: I am responsible'
