に初めて参加される仲間、ようこそ。
選ばれたテーマにどう取り組むか…「どうすれば頭の中から抜け出せるか？」日常生活の中には、つい先のことや将来のことを考えてしまう場面がたくさんあります。タイムリーなテーマの選択ですね、ピーター。
私は手を広げすぎないようにしています…居間の窓のすぐ向こうには、見事に花をつけた桜の木が秋の落葉を待っています。八十代の私は未来に向かってこう思いながら歩みます。「たくさんの落ち葉をかき集めなければ…体力がもつといいけれど。」
頼りになる HONDA の芝刈り機を動かすとき、心の中で「これをあとどれくらい続けられるだろう？」と問いかけます。現在の自分と未来の自分という二つの声がしばしば出会い、会話を交わします…これは、AAでの経験を積む中で心の中に生まれた会話です。
ミーティングで「未来から借金をするな（先取り不安をするな）」と聞いたり、「まず第一のことから」「うまくいっているなら手を加えるな」「焦らずに」「人それぞれに任せる」「シンプルに考えよ（KISS, Keep It Simple, Stupid）」といったスローガンを目にすることがあります：
何度も私は声に出して、私の
ハイヤーパワー（HP=ハイヤーパワー）神、または高次の力、自分を超えた大きな力。意志と生き方をゆだねる対象。
に「さて…どうすればいい？」と問いかけ、その後しばらく待ちます。時には、何か具体的な行動を起こすこともあります。今朝は、心の中で少し暗い未来のイメージを作り出していました。自分の心が調整を必要としていると気づくと、まるで魔法のように、自動掃除機能付きオーブンのボタンが私に語りかけているように思えました。
ボタンを押す前に、オーブンの棚を浴槽に運び、オーブンが動作を終えるまでしばらく浸けておきました。棚を洗い、結果を目にしたとき、本当にさわやかな気持ちになりました。(^^

Good afternoon from sunny Northern California. I’m Pam, a grateful alcoholic. Congratulations sobriety celebrants and welcome to anyone new to ESH.
How to approach the chosen topic…how do you get out of your head? Timely choice topic, Peter, as everyday life offers untold opportunities to wander into the future…that vast landscape.
Am having to pare down the opportunities…just beyond the living room window a gorgeous flowering cherry tree awaits its fall shedding. As an octogenarian I venture into the future with, “there’ll be a boatload of leaves to rake…Hope I have the energy.”
When I push the trusty Honda mower my mind questions, “I wonder how long I’ll be able to do this?” Two voices (present and future) meet another frequently and carry on a conversation…a conversation that results from being around AA for a while.
I hear in a meeting, “Don’t take a loan from the future,” or read the slogans: First things, if it works don’t fix it, easy does it, live and let live, KISS.
More than a few times I audibly ask my HP, “Okay…what do I do?” and then wait. Sometimes it involves actively doing something. This morning my mind was creating a future that looked somewhat bleak. Recognizing my mind needed adjustment, magically the self-cleaning oven button nearly spoke to me.
Before poking the button I took the racks to the bathtub and let them soak for a time until the oven finished its operation. Washing the racks and seeing the result was truly refreshing. (^^
Believing, trusting, and doing what the big book lines-out has worked so far.
The clock is chiming three. Time to take a walk in the neighborhood.
