私は1988年にモントリオールでソーバーになりました。そこでは毎週多くのAAミーティングが開かれており、フランス語で310回、英語で135回、スペイン語で59回、ロシア語で1回、さらにはペルシャ語（ファルシ語）でも1回のミーティングがありました。私はフランス語と英語のミーティングに定期的に参加していました。2018年、妻と私はモントリオールのアパートを売却し、しばらくの間田舎へ引っ越すことに決めました。私たちは、セントローレンス川の南岸にある農業地域の人口約850人の村、ロトビニエールを選びました。その村にはAAミーティングがなかったので、私はフランス語の

勉強会「Il y a une solution」（第二章「解決はある」の意）を始めることにしました。そのミーティングでの最初の頃の経験は、ビルとボブの時代の草創期のAAメンバーたちと似ていたと思います。私は町役場から借りた広い部屋に一人で座り、

を読みながら、誰かが来て10杯のコーヒーを一緒に飲むのを待っていました。数週間後、車で30分から50分離れた他の村のグループから、2、3人のメンバーが時々参加するようになりました。その後、ロトビニエール出身の女性フランシーヌが加わり、定期的に参加するようになりました。さらに、30分ほど離れた別のミーティングで知り合ったジャン＝ギィも参加し始めました。ご存じの通り、田舎ではディスカッション形式のミーティングは都会ほど人気がありませんし、

を読んだという仲間もあまり多くありません。そしてパンデミックが起こりました。私たちはこれまで町から借りていたミーティング会場を使えなくなりました。それでミーティングをオンラインに切り替えました。それはうまくいきました。冬の吹雪の中、狭い田舎道を運転しなくても、自宅から参加できるようになったからです。
2022年に、妻と私はモントリオールのウトルモン地区に戻りましたが、オンラインミーティング「Il y a une solution」は今も続いています。参加者は通常ケベック州の他の地域からもおり、場合によってはフランスやベルギー、さらには年の半分をチリで過ごす私のスポンサ―も参加しています。私たちは毎週月曜日の午後8時から8時50分まで集まり、

の最初の186ページ（英語版の164ページ、第11章までに相当）を毎週数ページずつ読み、読んだ内容に対する個人的な理解や経験を共有しています。186ページまで読み終えると、また最初から読み直します。私たちはいつも、誰かが私たちが気づかないうちに新しい何かを加えたのではないか、あるいは参加者の誰かが私たちの理解とは異なる解釈をしているのではないかという印象を持ちます。（訳註：毎回新たな発見と気づきがあるということ）

Greetings everybody,
I'm an alcoholic and my name is Robert, Thank you Mark for your service and for the topic.

I got sober in Montreal in 1988, where there were a lot of AA meetings every week, 310 in French, 135 in English, 59 in Spanish, 1 in Russian, and even one in Farsi. I attended regularly meetings in French and meetings in English. In 2018 my wife and I sold our apartment in Montreal and decided to move to the country for awhile. We chose Lotbinière a village of 850 souls in an agricultural area on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River. There were no AA meetings in the village, so I decided to start one, a French Big Book discussion meeting called /Il y a une solution/ (chapter 2 /There is a solution/, in the English version of the Big Book). At first, I guess my experience was similar to the first AAs in Bill and Bob's time : I sat alone in a large room rented from the municipality where I read the Big Book and waited for somebody to come help me drink 10 cups of coffee. After a few weeks two or three members of other groups in other villages 30 to 50 minutes away by car occasionally came to attend. Then Francine, a woman from Lotbinière, joined me and attended regularly, later Jean-Guy, a member I had met at another meeting 30 minutes away, started coming too. You see discussion meetings are not as popular in the countryside as they are in urban areas. Plus not too many people have read the Big Book. And then the pandemic struck. We couldn't use the room we had been renting from the municipality anymore. So we changed the meeting to an online meeting. That worked better, since people could attend and participate from their homes without having to drive in blizzards on small country roads in the winter.
In 2022, my wife and I moved back to Montreal, in the borough of Outremont, but the online meeting /Il y a une solution /still exists, only the attendance usually also comprises members from other areas of the Province of Quebec and in some cases people who live in France, Belgium, or a sponsee of mine who spends six months of the year in Chili. We meet every Monday from 8:00 P.M. to 8:50 P.M. We read the first 186 pages (corresponding to 164 in English) of the book, a few pages every week, and share our personal understanding and experience related to what we have read. And when we get to page 186, we start again from the beginning. We always have the impression somebody added something new while we weren't looking, or one of the participants has a different understanding of what we thought we had understood. The Big Book is a great legacy of our founding members.
