セレニティ・プレイヤー（平安の祈り）は、私の回復において常に強力な道具でした。簡単に言うと、私は心の落ち着き、勇気、そして賢さを求めているのです。私がAAの扉をくぐった時には、これら三つの特質すべてが、欠けていました。
時間をかけて私は学びました。この道具（セレニティ・プレイヤー）を使い、変えられないことを受け入れることで、より速やかに感謝の気持ちへと移行できるようになる、ということを。変えられることに行動を起こすとき、私はより強く、より自信を持てるようになるという贈り物を受け取ります。それができるのは、仲間たちが「勇気とは、祈りを通して恐れを乗り越えることだ」と教えてくれたからです。私にとって賢さとは、AAの内でも外でも、他の人たちの話に耳を傾け、学ぼうとする心を持つことを意味します。
今週、私はカリフォルニアにいて、大きな手術を受けた息子の介助をしています。病院という環境の中で過ごすこの一週間、私はこの道具（セレニティ・プレイヤー）を使って実践する多くの機会に恵まれました。このタイミングで思い出させてもらえたことに感謝しています！

The Serenity Prayer has always been a powerful tool in my recovery. When I simplify it, I'm asking for serenity, courage, and wisdom. All three of those attributes were missing when I arrived at the doors of AA.
Over time, I've learned when applying this tool, once I accept things I cannot change, I am able to more quickly transition into gratitude. When I take action to change things I can, I receive the gift of growing stronger and more confident. I can do that sometimes because you taught me that courage is fear that has been prayed over. Wisdom, for me, often means I'm open to listening and learning from others, both in and out of AA.
This week, I am in California helping my son who had major surgery. Throughout the week in a hospital environment, I have had many opportunities to practice using this tool. I appreciate the timing of the reminder!
