突然の気づき
皆さん、こんにちは。アルコホーリクのジェフです。昨日でAAでの29年目のバースデーを迎えました。私は驚いています。どうして飲まずに、また死ぬことなくここまで来られたのだろうと思います。その時、気づきました。それは私ではなく、ずっと私の誤解から来た神の力だったのです。ソーバーの旅の始まりに、神は私にあなた方が持っているものを欲しいと思う気持ちを与え、それを得るためにどんなことでもやる意欲を与えてくれました。あとはご存じの通り、それが歴史となりました。困難な時も、順調な時も、成長と変化を重ねてきた豊かな歴史です。

The structure of an ESH meeting is that the chairperson selects a topic for the week and anyone in the group has the option to share on that topic. In order to keep the postings to a minimum for the entire group, we suggest that personal messages be sent directly to that person and not via the Group.
Comments should be closely related to recovery from alcoholism.
"The ESH meeting will begin no earlier than Sunday morning anytime after midnight EST and members are requested to post their shares no later than the following Saturday night at 11:59 PM EST."
All members are encouraged to share their A.A. anniversary on their annual sobriety date. Tell the group what your life was like before AA, what happened, and what it's like today.

Suddenly Realizing
Hi Everyone, Jeff, alcoholic, Yesterday marked my 29th sober year in Alcoholics Anonymous. I am amazed. How could I have come this far without drinking or dying? Then I remembered it wasn't me, It has been the God of my misunderstanding all along. At the beginning of my journey God ignited the desire in me to want what you had and gave me the willingness to go to any lengths to get it. The rest, as they say, is history-- a rich history of growing and changing through thick and thin,
All twelve of the ninth step promises have come true for me to some degree or another. But perhaps the most significant to my recovery is the promise that I will suddenly realize that God is doing for me what I cannot do for myself. These mysterious "God Shots" have served me well throughout my recovery. They show up in my life out of the blue to assure me I'm on the right path even if it doesn't feel like it at the time. Despite what my head might be telling me, these experiences tell me I'm exactly where I am supposed to be and have been in the right place every second of my life.
I had a major God Shot at the very beginning of my recovery. Three days before my first meeting, before I got a sponsor and before I worked any steps, the desire to drink was lifted clean out of me and I was lifted up on a pink cloud. I had no idea how this happened, but I found this very curious since I had been drinking daily for thirty years. All I did was sign up for treatment. I went from hopeless to hopeful overnight. My first taste of freedom from alcohol was delicious and like any alcoholic, I wanted more so I began a vigorous program of action that continues today. It took a few months to understand what had happened -- that God was doing for me what I could not do for myself.
