Thanks Jeff for getting us started this week and congratulations on 31 years. Well I came to these rooms thru hospitals. I was dying. I had no clue how to stop. I came into AA for real at 31 years old. I had tried before but I didn't work. This time though a little man named Norman came to my bedside in the hospital and shared his story. He invited me to come to the outpatient program. I left the hospital and didn't give it a second thought but they called me and I started going: group therapy, one on one counseling and education. We were also required to make 3 meetings on the outside. I just did as I was told. And the fog lifted. I finally felt like I belonged. I came to love showing up for all of it and got excited to do a 4th step and made friends in AA and built a solid foundation in this program. And that's how it's been working for me the past 40 years.
