WELCOME TO THE ESH WEEKLY MEETING
The structure of an ESH meeting is that the chairperson selects a topic for the week and anyone in the group has the option to share on that topic. In order to keep the postings to a minimum for the entire group, we suggest that personal messages be sent directly to that person and not via the Group.
Comments should be closely related to recovery from alcoholism. "The ESH meeting will begin no earlier than Sunday morning anytime after midnight EST and members are requested to post their shares no later than the following Saturday night at 11:59 PM EST."
All members are encouraged to share their A.A. anniversary on their annual sobriety date. Tell the group what your life was like before AA, what happened, and what it's like today.

Hi Everyone. My name is Pam. I am a grateful alcoholic. We will open the meeting with a few moments of silence for the alcoholic who still suffers. Thanks for being here today to share your experience, strength and hope. Congratulations to anyone celebrating any length of sobriety and welcome newcomers to ESH. Thank you Suanne, for serving ESH and providing the opportunity to chair our meeting this week. In thinking about chairing this week, I turned to "As Bill Sees It" and found this quote that provides thought for a bit of reflection: '"I just know that you are expected, at some point, to do more than carry the message of A.A. to other alcoholics. In A.A. we aim not only for sobriety---we try again to become citizens of the world that we rejected, and of the world that once rejected us. This is the ultimate demonstration toward which Twelfth Step work is the first but not the final step."' Bill's quote pretty well says what has happened for me. Early in my sobriety and for many years into it, meetings at least twice a week, daily contact with my sponsor, sponsoring women, going on 12th Step calls, reading The Book, secretarying home group meetings, and finding my way through the steps while building a foundation, or, as my first sponsor said, "Putting it in the bank." Today, I can honestly say that I am a citizen of the world and have been for a number of years...a contributing member of society, and it feels pretty darn good. Because of that foundation and the steps becoming a barometer for living, my life today is more than I could have remotely imagined on July 12, 1982. I had a wonderful high school teaching career, I could not ask for a better relationship with my children, my children trust me implicitly, and their children run to greet me when I visit. A few non-profit organizations have asked me to participate on a volunteer basis, and I am happy to oblige. All of this wonderful happening is because of A.A....daily trust in a power greater than myself, living the steps, and a lot of people helping me along the way. You bet I'm grateful.
