今朝の私はほとんどを泣きっぱなしで過ごしました。世界中の仲間たちからメッセージを受け取り、自分の過ちや短所にもかかわらず、今ここ (AA) にいられることに心から謙虚な気持ちになっています。私の昔の

ステップ6は、神が私の性格上の欠点すべてを取り除いてくださるように、進んで願うことを求めています。それは、必ずしもすべての欠点が取り除かれるという意味ではありません。私の欠点の中には、神にとって役立つものがあるかもしれないからです。それでも、私にはそれを手放す意思が必要なのです。この「意思」は強くなったり弱くなったりします。ステップ6は、私にとって「一度きりで終わる」ものではなく、常に注意を向けていなければならないプロセスです。「これだけは見逃してほしい！」という態度は、壊滅的な、場合によっては命に関わるほどの危険をはらみます。私は毎日、神に「進んで欠点を手放す心」を与えてくださるよう祈っています。

Hi, everyone. My name is Dave and I am an alcoholic. Thanks you for the great lead and topic, Suanne, and for your steadfast service to ESH. Welcome to all and congrats to AA (and HP!) for the milestones we celebrate this week, especially Suanne’s 24 years and my own 39 years. The program works!
I’ve spent much of the morning wiping away tears. I’ve heard from friends all over the world and am humbled to find myself here despite my failings and shortcomings. As my old sponsor, Hugh xxxx, used to say, We can do what I can’t.
Step 6 calls on me to be willing to let God remove all my defects of character. That doesn’t mean that he will remove them — some of my defects might be useful to God — but I still have to be willing. This willingness waxes and wanes. Step 6 has not been “one and done” for me. It requires constant attention and avoiding the potentially disastrous (even fatal) declaration of “Not this!” I ask God for help with willingness every day.
